Rotation
There has been much talk about Rotation lately - about him being Mats Sundin's and Hardy Nilsson's horse and Stig H. Johansson's Elitlopp candidate. Not much talk has been about what's most interesting - his outstanding maternal family. The three first dams of Rotation are all plus-$100,000 winners. First dam, World Champion Expressway Hanover 1:55.2 $339.606 won Breeder's Crown. Her first three foals were unsuccessful but then Rotation was born and Harald Lunde purchased the Balanced Image-colt as a yearling for $40,000. Expressway Hanover is by Prakas, Per Eriksson's first big star in the States. Prakas became the richest trotter ever but failed at stud. As broodmare sire he has also produced No Nonsense Woman, San Pellegrino, No Pain No Gain, Sugarcane Volo, Alv Richcrop and On the Road Hoss (add this year's winners Windsong's Legacy and Silver Springs, translator's note). As broodmare sire on Balanced Image he has also produced Keystone Nordic 1:56.3 $110,848. Second dam Exclusive Way 1:59.3 $138,688 is also the dam of full brothers Excel Hanover 1:57.2 $328,424 and Everglade Hanover 1:55.4 $346,150. Excel Hanover was at stud in Sweden for a few years. From 21 foals here he sired 15 starters, 14 winners and 10 100,000 SEK winners, and he well deserved a better chance than he got. Everglade Hanover was also imported to Europe and ha was for a time at stud in Norway. A half brot her of these two, Extreme Hanover, was exported to Italy and won Orsi Mangelli. Exclusive Way is also second dam of Kerry's Crown 1:55.1 2,300,000 SEK. Kerry's Crown has unfortunately had only one foal in Sweden and moreover unfortunately this foal is by Ideal du Suede (unsuccessful stallion, translator's note). Third dam Kerry Way 1:58.4 $221,559 won Hambletonian Stakes but is perhaps even more renown as dam of the exceptional Classical Way 1:55.2 - World Champion and winner of Roosevelt International and in Sweden dam of Gloves and Enlightenment. Kerry Way is closely related to Super Bowl - same sire, sire of dam and second dam - and she is thus a member of the family which has produced Go Get Lost, Park Avenue Kathy, Super Speedy, Softly Dream, On the Road Hoss and Alv Richcrop.
